Hershey's Boo Blvd. {The Perfect Halloween!} Plus a Giveaway
It's that time of year again! Where the crisp cool air start's to nip at your feet, the leaves begin to turn beautiful shades of orange, yellow, and red. Ghosts, Ghouls, and Goblins will come out to play. And the innocence of trick or teat has celebration occur across the globe. It's this time of year that I love.
Having our own home to decorate throughout the years and watch as our little ones run down the stairs each morning to see what new little pumpkin, set of lights, or cinnamon/pumpkin spice candles was brought warmth to the air is what I live for. It happens each and every time a special holiday is upon us.
I'm sure you all feel the same way. Whether you have children or not. Whether you go big or go home when it comes to decorations. I want to share some tips and tricks along the way to help make this year; The Perfect Halloween.
Decorations can bring a lot of warmth and welcome to a small space.
I love draping a solid fabric over a small table, stringing lights around it, lighting a few candles at night, and adding little pieces of familiarity throughout the "display". It helps bring a cheery touch to the fresh bakes cookies you might be pulling out of the oven or that whole-hearty meal your hubby has managed to devour in 3.4 seconds.
1. You can use any type of lighting; a set of string lights, paper lanterns, or candles will do the trick. You can set them up anywhere across your house, in the main room you plan on hosting a party in or even in your kids playroom (just make sure their hanging up throughout the ceiling if you choose a playroom so your little one's can't touch).
2. Use decorations from years before, that have been passed down through your family, or even at your local flea market that you so happened to stumble upon this past summer. Re-using decorations brings charm to the overall feel of things.
3. Splurge on a few pumpkins, big or small and either decorate them (display your favorite carving, paint them, or even make them sparkle with glitter) or display them as is.
4. Hold onto those school projects your kids may bring home from school. Turn them into a collage and hang them on a close line style display on the wall.
5. Bake, Bake, and Bake some more. It's the perfect time to have some fun with a guilt free indulgence in your favorite dessert. Especially if your planning on having a lot of guests over this Halloween, you don't want to make them feel left out! Send treats over to family or wrap them up and save them for trick or treater's.
6. Make your own decorations from everyday items from around the house. If you don't have the budget to splurge a little on decorations, then set out to create your own display of DIY.
You can make pumpkins out of toilet paper/formula cans/or anything else that's slightly round and simply wrap it with orange fabric and tie it with a green pipe cleaner. If you have any paper towel rolls, cut them out into small bats or mummy's. All of those empty baby food jars can turn into Frankenstein monsters your little kids can enjoy too.
Whether your ideas may be big or small, it's quite easy to create the perfect Halloween this year!
2 Eggs
2 1/4 cup of Flour
1/3 cup of Sugar
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
1 3/4 cup of Brown Sugar
1 cup of Melted Butter
2 Pudding Cups- Vanilla or Pumpkin Spice
Optional; 1 tsp of Pumpkin Spice
1 1/2 cups of Reece's Pieces
1/2 cup of HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
Preheat the oven to 350 while preparing this. Grab a large bowl and mix together both the sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until a smooth texture has formed.
Add in the vanilla extract and 2 eggs along with the Flour and melted butter. Mix together slowly until a creamy batter forms.
Now add in the reece's pieces and semi-sweet chocolate morsels, making sure to mix everything together slowly by hand so that the candy pieces stay in tact.
On a lightly greased pan, form big or small balls of the batter onto the pan. Once every last bit has been used, pop the pan into your oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges become slightly golden.
Spread on some cream cheese whipped icing once their cooled off.
Then sit back, relax, and enjoy your spook-tacular dessert with a cold glass of milk.
I hope that your Halloween is peaceful, fun-filled, and the perfect party in town.
