Forget Gingerbread Houses, Let's Make Christmas Tree's!

by - Sunday, December 02, 2012

Gingerbread houses are so overrated. At least they are in our house, which is exactly why we want to share with you this quick and easy tutorial.

1. Gather all of your ingredients. Here's a list of what we used.

Mini Ice Cream Cones
Several different color variations of sprinkles
Whipped Supreme Vanilla Icing
Mini M&M's
Coconut Flakes

You can easily swap out our choice of candy pieces for another one, such as mini reeces or  mini bubble gum drops.

2. Smooth icing along the trees.

I found it was easiest to keep twisting around the entire tree instead of trying to smooth just one part at a time.
And remember, it doesn't have to be perfect!

3. Drizzle "snow" (the coconut flakes) on and around the trees. You can do a little or a lot, whichever looks best to you.

4. Decorate with sprinkles or m&m's. I varied using a light coat of sprinkles on some of the trees and a more coat on the others. I used the mini m&m's as ornaments for the tree's I previously drizzled with snow (although you could choose to add candy pieces to any of the tree's).

And that's it, your done!

So kick those gingerbread houses to the curb and move these adorable christmas trees in.
